Mayor Clayton is a character featured in RAGE. He is the eminent government official in Wellspring. He issues the protagonist multiple quests, and gives him tips on surviving these endeavors.

According to the Wellspring residents, he is the one who started the city and made it that Wellspring the player sees. After the Authority moves into Wellspring, the Mayor's Office is empty. He may have been removed as a potential threat to the Authority occupation.

• In the novel he is hinted as being incredibly corrupt, although this does not seem to be the case in the game.
